HEC is a nonionic, water-soluble polymer, is a white, free-flowing granular powder. It is made by reacting ethylene oxide with alkali-cellulose under rigidly controlled conditions.
It is used as a thickener, rheology modifier and syneresis control.
It is easily dissolved in cold or hot water to give crystal-clear, shear-thinning solutions of varying viscosity. Furthermore, low to medium molecular weight types are fully soluble in glycerol and have good solubility in hydro-alcoholic systems containing up to 60 percent ethanol.
Natrosol™ hec is generally insoluble in organic solvents.
It perform across a wide pH range and demonstrate high salt tolerance and broad surfactant compatibility, enabling clear formulations. It is a natural gum derived from pine and spruce tree trunks.
Used to thicken shampoos, gels, body washes, and add body and after feel to bubble baths, body care products, lotions and creams.
In hair gels as it will give a soft hold and a lovely hair feel without stickiness. It is a non-ionic, water-soluble thickening agent for water based cosmetic and personal care products. It can be also be used to efficiently thicken shampoos, body washes and shower gels.
