Potassium cocoyl glycinnate is a mild and versatile biodegradable, sulfate-free, and anionic surfactant.  It is a salt of coconut fatty acids with amino acid, glycine. Which are both from natural renewable sources. It is one of the mildest anionic surfactants by far, yet with excellent foaming and cleaning abilities. Compared with other anionic surfactants, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate removes less intercellular cement lipids when applied, which makes it skin barrier friendly. It produces a pleasant creamy-feeling lather during washing.

It effectively cleans the skin and hair without causing excessive dryness or irritation. Products formulated with Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate are super easy to rinse off. After washing, it can leave the skin with a clean, light, supple, and non-drying feel.

Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, like its ‘sister’ Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, is another Glycine amino acid based surfactant. They have similar properties, only that Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate has better solubility, which makes it even easier to rinse off, although Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate is already easy to rinse off.

Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate is often chosen for its excellent foaming properties, emulsifying abilities, and its capacity to stabilize formulations. Its mild nature makes it suitable for sensitive skin and hair care products.

Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate is used as a detergent, a foaming agent, an emulsifier, a solubilizer, and a dispersing agent. It provides a smooth and non-stripped feeling to the skin.

Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate has excellent solubility under neutral to alkaline conditions and high foaming power at all concentration levels. Combined with other detergents, it improves foam volume and retentiveness.
